This study aimed to investigate the impact of personality traits of Egyptian Tax Authority’s workers on their psychological detachment by testing the mediated role of workplace bullying. The study used a questionnaire to collect data from a sample of 384 workers. The results showed a significant negative effect of extraversion, agreeableness, and openness to experience on the exposure to bullying in the workplace. Also, the results showed a significant positive effect of neuroticism on the exposure to bullying in the workplace, showed a significant positive effect of conscientiousness on psychological detachment, and showed a significant negative effect of neuroticism on psychological detachment. In addition, the results showed that exposure to bullying in the workplace partially mediates the relationship between conscientiousness and neuroticism and the psychological detachment of workers during off time jobs. The study ended with a set of recommendations for decision makers to enhancing the ability of the workers’ psychological detachment and reducing the behaviors of bullying in the workplace, and recommendations for future studies.
