The Impact of Strategic Flexibility on Crisis Management: The Moderating Effect of Organizational Trust Applied to The Holding Company For Drinking Water in Alexandria

Abstract

The current study aimed to measure the impact of strategic flexibility on crisis management by examining the moderating effect of organizational trust, applied to employees of the Holding Company for Drinking Water in Alexandria Governorate and by analyzing the questionnaire data obtained from 273 employees at administrative levels (high-middle) using the SPSS26 program to analyze the data obtained, and through this program, a descriptive analysis of the study variables was obtained, in addition to testing the study hypotheses. The results of the study concluded the following:
-   The axes of strategic flexibility are applied to a high degree, and the highest applied axes were production flexibility, followed by knowledge and information management flexibility, followed by the marketing flexibility axis.
-   As for the crisis management variable, it came to a high degree, and the highest applied stages were preparedness, prevention, and the damage containment stage, followed by the activity recovery stage, followed by the learning stage.
-   For the modified variable, organizational trust came at a medium level, and the highest applied dimensions were trust in the supervisor, followed by trust in senior management, then trust in colleagues.
-   There is a statistically significant moral effect of strategic flexibility in its dimensions on crisis management in its stages, and it was found that the most influential axes are the information and knowledge flexibility axis, and the least influential is marketing flexibility.
-   Organizational trust modifies the relationship between the impact of strategic flexibility in its dimensions on crisis management, and the most influential dimension of organizational trust, the modified effect, was trust in senior management.
