The Effect of Knowledge Sharing as a Mediator in the relationship between High Performance Human Resources Work Systems and Sustainable Development Applied to the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the extent of effect of applying High Performance Human Resources Work Systems (training – selective recruitment – information sharing – performance appraisal – clear job description) on different dimensions of sustainable development (economic, social and environmental) besides identifying the role that knowledge sharing plays as an mediator in the relationship between human resource high performance work systems and sustainable development in the Arab Academy for Science and Technology. The researcher used the surveying descriptive method, which is based on the study of the phenolmenon as it exists in reality with precise description. The researcher also used the questionnaire as a data collection tool. The search revealed that the application of high performance work systems has a signifycant positive effect on sustainable developpment, partly in terms of the effect of training and participation on the economic dimension of sustainable developent, the effect of training, selective recruitment and performance appraisal on the socialdimension of sustainable developent, as well as the effect of training on the environmental dimension of sustainable development and otherwise excluded. Also, The application of high performance work systems has a signifycant positive effect on knowledge sharing, partly in terms of training, participation, performance appraisal, clear    job descriptions and refusing it in selective recruitent.There is a significant positive effect of knowledge sharing on sustainable development, partly in relation to the effect of knowledge sharing on the economic dimension of sustainable developent, and otherwise excluded.There is an effect of knowledge sharing as a mediator in the relationship between the application of high performance work systems and sustainable development, partly in relation to the economic dimension, and in relation to both the social and environmental dimensions.
