Abstract

The objective of the current study is to investigate the mediating role of perceived organizational support on the relationship between green human resource management practices represented in (green recruitment, green training and development, green performance appraisal, green participation), and environmentally oriented organizational citizenship behavior. The study population is represented in the health sector in Iraq, where the health sector is one of the main sources that contribute to the treatment of pollution and waste disposal. The sample size for analysis was 495 employees in this sector, and the survey method was used to collect data. The study scales were subjected to validity and reliability tests. The model and hypotheses of the study were also tested using the structural equation modeling method through the statistical programs (SPSS25) and (AMOS22).
The most important results of the study were represented in: an increase in the awareness of employees in the health sector of the extent to which green human resource management practices are applied, and there is also a rise in the level of perceived organizational support and organizational citizenship behavior directed by the environment among the sample members. The validity of the study model was also demonstrated in explaining changes in organizational citizenship behavior driven by the environment through green human resource management practices and perceived organizational support. It has also been argued that perceived regulatory support is a partial mediator of the relationship between green practices and citizen behavior.
