The role of industrial clusters in creating job opportunities in Alexandria Governorate

Industrial clusters play an important role in supporting the industrial sector. It contributes to increasing the added value, creating job opportunities, and reducing unemployment rates. this paper aims to examine the relationship between industrial clusters and job creation in Alexandria Governorate, and the researcher uses the index of site's ability to create job (industrial localization index) to examine this relationship. This index created by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The paper concluded that there are industries with high production efficiency in Alexandria Governorate, and these industries contributed to provide jobs in Alexandria Governorate (textile industry, chemical products and printing).
And other industries should be in other governorates, (electronic products, electric devices, and paper) where these industries did not contribute to create jobs in Alexandria. it is preferable for these industries to located in another suitable location rather than Alexandria governorate, through which they can be interconnected and integrated with other industries, therefor these industries can create more jobs.
