The purpose of the study is to investigate the status of strategic thinking in Jordanian insurance companies listed in Amman stock market as perceived by managers in the three administrative levels; through exploring the extent of clarity of this concept among managers and the status of applying strategic thinking, in order to reach recommendations that can improve strategic thinking in those companies. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical approach to study this phenomenon through secondary data such as books and journals as well as primary resources such as a questionnaire developed for the purpose of the study. The population of the study is 27 insurance companies listed in Amman stock market as 81 questioners were distributed (3 for each level). The research used four factors to measure the reality of practice of strategic thinking. They included: 1. Knowledge and the concept of strategic thinking, 2. Reflective thinking, 3.Reframing thinking, 4. Systems thinking. The findings of the study showed that the level of the knowledge of the concept and the practice of strategic thinking skills was high, and there was no statistical significant difference between the knowledge of the concept, strategic thinking skills and personal characteristics.
