The Role of the Fiscal Mechanisms in Enhancing the Competitiveness of the Egyptian Maritime Fleet

According to the important role that the maritime transport  sector plays in achieving the economic development, as the services which it provides are considered complementary and integrated with the other economic activities in the society, either industrial, agricultural and touristic activeities.also, the commercial maritime fleet is considered the core stone for developed or developing country to carry its foreign trade, and it is considered also a main source of generating foreign currency, enhancing the balance of payment, opening new markets for the country exports, and a guarantee for the imported goods, especially the strategic goods in the proper time So, we have to search for and study the current status of the Egyptian maritime  fleet, and by analyzing the available data about it, we find a slowdown in its performance indicators, so we have to study and analyze the main causes of that slowdown, and we have also to determine the global technical, managerial, and technological threats which affect its efficient operation, especially during the globalization and its threats upon both developed and developing countries such as WTO agreements which consists of GATS, and so to determine the role of the government in designing the technical, legislative, fiscal, managerial and marketing policies to enhance the competitiveness of that fleet.
