Digital Investment and its Impact on Poverty in Arab Countries During period (2018-2022)

Most countries around the world have turned to digital investment as one of the aspects of digital transformation in the economic field. Accordingly, many studies have focused on analyzing digital investment and its relationship with economic growth. However, there has not been sufficient attention given to studying the impact of digital investment on poverty in Arab countries. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effect of digital investment on poverty reduction in Arab countries.
The objective of this study is to identify the impact of digital investment on poverty in Arab countries by analyzing the study hypothesis: "Providing digital investment leads to poverty reduction in Arab countries." To do this, the study drew on several previous studies that addressed digital investment and poverty in Arab countries to analyze the relationship between them.
The relationship between the study variables was tested using panel data for 22 Arab countries, applying the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) linear regression model over the period (2018–2022). The results indicated a statistically significant negative relationship between digital investment and poverty in Arab countries.
Thus, the study concludes that increasing digital investment helps reduce poverty in Arab countries, and accordingly, the study presents several recommendations.
