The Impact of McKinsey's Modified 7S+ Model on Business Continuity Performance: An Analysis of the Mediating Role of Strategic Vigilance- Applied to the Egyptian Telecommunications Company
The research aims to study the role of dimensions in McKinsey's modified 7S+ model, which include (strategy, organizational structure, systems, shared values, skills, management style, employees, self-assessment, supporting factors) on business continuity management. The latter involves the dimensions of (complete understanding of the organization's nature of work, formulating business continuity management strategy, developing, and implementing responses to business continuity management, selecting and auditing and updating business continuity plans). The research also tests the mediating role of strategic Vigilance (business alertness "marketing", environmental alertness, competitive alertness, technological alertness). The study was conducted on executives and senior leaders at the Egyptian Telecommunication Company, with a random sample of 252 individuals. Primary data was collected through personal interviews using a survey questionnaire distributed among the sample. The number of retrieved and analyzable survey questionnaires was 213, with a response rate of 84.5%. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS V.26 and AMOS .26. The research found a significant impact of McKinsey's 7S+ model dimensions on business continuity management. Additionally, the study revealed a significant impact of McKinsey's 7S+ model dimensions on strategic Vigilance. Furthermore, the research concluded that there is a significant impact of strategic Vigilance on business continuity management. Finally, the study found that strategic Vigilance mediates the relationship between McKinsey's 7S+ model dimensions and business continuity management. Based on the research results, recommendations were made, including the necessity for the company to regularly analyze the external environment to understand market changes and customer needs. Moreover, the company should adopt advanced business strategies to effectively respond to increasing competition, encouraging creative thinking and innovation to find solutions that enhance its market distinction. The researcher also proposed suggestions for future research, including applying the study model to other service sectors.
