The Role of Emotional Intelligence in The Relationship between Workplace Bullying and its Negative Behavioral Outcomes Applying to Assiut University Hospitals

Abstract

This study came to investigate the role of Emotional Intelligence as a moderator variable in the relationship between Workplace Bullying and its Negative Behavioral Outcomes; Withdrawal Behaviors and aggressive behavior for a sample of (346) nurses in Assiut University Hospitals. The study was based on analytical descriptive methodology. A questionnaire was designed to gather primary data for the study, and its validity and reliability were verified. The results of this study indicated that there was a positive significant effect of Workplace Bullying on both withdrawal behaviors (psychological, physical) and aggressive behavior (inside work, outside work). Moreover, there is a negative significant effect of Emotional Intelligence (moderator variable) in the relationship between Workplace Bullying and both psychological Withdrawal Behaviors and aggressive behavior inside the work.
