The impact of e-governance in combating the coronavirus (covid-19) applying to the Egyptian Ministry of Education

Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the extent to which the Egyptian Ministry of Education applies the principles of e-governance, especially the principles of (perceived transparency, perceived accountability, perceived response) and their role in the ministry’s dealing with the Covid-19. The study population consists of employees and managers in the main branch of the Ministry in Cairo. The sample size was (384) individuals. The questionnaire consisted of (36) questions, distributed on the three principles of e-governance that represented the independent variable in the study model and perception of the danger of Covid-19 as a dependent variable. This study relied on the descriptive and analytical approach. The results showed that the application of e-governance is in medium degree, where significant results showed that the Multiple Regression Model is at the level of significance (0.000). The study recommended improving and developing the ministry’s website, updating data and information continuously especially in crisis conditions. It was also recommended to develop and automate the feedback system to report on the extent to which the goals set in combating the virus have been achieved. Finally, it recommended using developed and simple technological tools to respond effectively to inquiries from dealers about Covid-19.
