Big Data Analysis in Saudi Banks: Their Reality and Level of Benefit in Supporting Financing Decisions

Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the reality of the use of big data analysis in Saudi banks, and the role that they contribute in supporting financing decision-making. The study population consisted of a number of Saudi banks, who were chosen as purposeful sample. The study reached several results, the most important of which are: The approval of each study sample from Saudi banks on the availability of an integrated infrastructure for information and communication technologies, and an integrated database that includes all departments, Lack of specialized programs for processing and analyzing big data in the banks (such as Hadoop / MapReduce, Apache Hive, HPCC), The lack of expertise to analyze big data using the aforementioned programs in all the banks under study, The study sample strongly agreed with the phrases of the role that big data analysis can play in supporting financing decisions, There is a statistically significant difference in the level of the role that the results of the analysis of big data can play in supporting the financing decision-making in the banks under study.
