Abstract

 This study aimed to identify the digital transformation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the extent of its readiness in carrying out the process of distance education and confronting the Corona crisis and the future role of this transformation and its importance in improving and developing the performance of universities, and the study relied on the descriptive, analytical and applied methodology. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which is that digital transformation and e-learning has become an important and basic requirement, and that attention to the technological infrastructure and working on updating it has become one of the important issues that everyone must consider during the next stage. The study clarified a number of important recommendations for decision-makers, including: Adopting continuous training projects for faculty members on the use of modern technology, overcoming the challenges facing the use of e-learning, such as the weak level of internet networks, weak students' level in dealing with modern technologies, and the absence of their motivation and response to this type of education. Through supporting the digital culture in society, providing the necessary financial allocations and working towards increasing investments in the technological infrastructure and its continuous modernization, establishing partnerships and agreements with advanced universities to provide training and developing e-learning tools and applications, linking Saudi universities to a unified network and linking universities to a communication network between them to exchange knowledge The expertise and information to contribute to the development of faculty members and to see the latest technology in these universities.
